Orientation time….

So today I had to attend orientation being an international student, it’s part of my visa conditions.

I didn’t sleep well last night, not sure if that’s because of my nerves for today, or the fact I got 11 mosquito bites on Sunday and they are rather itchy!!

Although I’ve done this before, and I’d been to campus a few times so I knew where I was going, I still had that knot in my stomach until I got to level 6 (where the orientation was taking place). I immediately felt at ease, the staff where so helpful, I got talking to a fellow student in front of me in the queue for registration and we discussed where we were from, what course we were studying, the usual small talk for new uni students.

The day went well, I learnt more about moodle and the CQU site and the fab services available on campus (level 7!!). I managed to scavenge 6 free pens from the stalls at lunch time and even touched a baby croc!! I can truly say that I really am looking forward to starting my studies fully next week and being part of the CQU experience.
